About

Mark W. Icard, DDS

General Dentist

Dr. Mark Icard is a 1987 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry. He has been practicing in Harrisburg since 1991. To keep up with the rapid advances in dentistry, he spends many hours in continuing education, study clubs and meetings. Dr. Icard is committed to advancing his clinical skills and knowledge.

In his free time, Dr. Icard enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult sons.

Jason C. Strein, DDS

General Dentist

Dr. Strein was born outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Harrisburg, NC in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Afterward, he completed his D.D.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry graduating as a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Strein is committed to continuing his education in the ever-growing field of dentistry to best be able to serve his community. In the past, he has volunteered for a number of outreach programs such as Missions of Mercy clinics, Student Health Action Coalition, and Global Medical Brigades. In his free time, he enjoys spending as much time with his wife and two children as possible.

Dana
DanaFront Office
Dana was born and raised in the Charlotte, NC area. She has been an integral part of our practice for over 26 years. She is married and has one son and two daughters. She also has two grandsons (with more on the way!). She enjoys spending time at the beach with her family (and dogs). She loves watching both college and pro football especially the Carolina Panthers. Dana stays active by hiking, biking, and playing other sports.
Jackie
JackieFront Office
Jackie has been working as a front desk administrator in our practice since moving from West Virginia to North Carolina over 27 years ago. She is married and enjoys spending her free time hiking, camping, and traveling with her husband and animals.

Jenn
JennDental Assistant
Jennifer was born in Charlotte but calls High Point, NC “home” because she moved there when she was only 9 years old. Jenn and her husband have been living in Concord coming up on 14 years. Her career in dentistry began in the state of Washington while her husband was serving in the Navy. Jenn has always enjoyed helping others. She likes seeing people smile from the care they receive and takes pride in helping them achieve a healthy smile. In 2011, Jenn joined our practice and has found pleasure in providing quality care to the Harrisburg community.”
Melissa
MelissaDental Assistant
Melissa was born in Cabarrus County and raised in the Mt. Pleasant/Concord area. She realized early in life that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry because she enjoyed helping others and had an interest in teeth after having braces at a young age.

Melissa married her high school sweetheart, Nick, in 2011 and subsequently joined our team in 2012. Melissa and Nick have two boys, Caleb and Silas, as well as a miniature dachshund. She relishes time spent with family and friends and enjoys long walks or weekend trips to the New River to canoe and camp when the weather is nice.

Ashley
AshleyDental Assistant
Ashley was born in August of 1987 and raised in the small town of Belwood, NC. She has always had a passion for working with the public, and growing up, she loved going to her pediatric dentist. It only seemed natural that she pursue a degree in Dental Assisting. Ashley joined our practice in September of 2015. She loves spending time with her family especially evening walks with her husband, Zeb, and daughter, Olivia. She enjoys outdoor activities and crafting in her spare time.
Amanda
AmandaDental Assistant
Amanda was born on January 20, 1980 and raised in Albemarle, NC. She got into dentistry after being inspired by her cousin but also because she wanted to help others feel good about their oral care. She joined our practice in 2007. Amanda is married to a wonderful husband and has two amazing special needs children who are her everything! She enjoys deer hunting and watching Carolina Tarheel basketball with her family.

JulieDental Hygienist
Julie was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Charlotte when she was in the first grade. She started working with Icard and Strein Family Dentistry in 2013. Julie is married and has three lovely children. She enjoys hiking as well as romantic picnics with her husband. Julie also enjoys time spent at church and tagging along on youth trips to embarrass her teenage daughters in front of their friends.
Kara
KaraDental Hygienist
Kara was born and raised in the China Grove/Salisbury area. She went to RCCC for dental assisting and then to the Community College of Denver in Aurora, Colorado for hygiene school. Kara has been with our practice since 2013 but has been practicing as a dental hygienist for over 19 years. She has one son, Garrett, and a cat named Stormy. She loves baseball, working in the yard, and kayaking (only a beginner!).
Pam
PamDental Hygienist
Pam was born in Charlotte, NC and grew up in Union Country. When her kids were small, Pam was a stay-at-home mother. When she decided to further her education, Pam chose dental hygiene due to its family-oriented nature. Pam has been working in our office since 2006. Her number one favorite hobby is fishing! She likes to bake (and we like when she does!) and grow a garden every summer. Pam also loves spending lots of time with her grandkids (most of the time).

I Enjoyed Going to a Dentist...What?!

A friend referred me to Dr Icard after I had a particularly difficult time getting prepared for crowns at another dentist. Upon meeting Dr Icard and his team the first time, I immediately felt more at ease. The office is bright and pleasant, and the front office staff is incredibly kind and friendly. Dr Icard himself, exudes calm confidence. He is incredibly knowledgeable, while at the same time, immediately open and approachable. His office is set up with very high tech equipment, all aimed at giving the patient the best dental experience possible. Even the administration of anesthetic was as completely relaxed and pain free as I’ve EVER experienced. As I was waiting for my crowns to be built (he builds them right there in his office, so I had everything done in one appointment!) he checked on me to make sure I was comfortable and throughout the visit, seemed genuinely invested in the comfort of his patient. I suggest you try his office for your next dental procedure, I believe you may decide you actually LIKE going to the dentist!
